There will be a special public meeting of the School Reform Commission of the School District of Philadelphia on Wednesday, October 24, 2007, immediately following the regular 1:30 p.m. public meeting in the auditorium of the Philadelphia Education Center, 2nd Floor, 440 North Broad Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to present the School District's plans to purchase a seven-acre parcel of land at 1751-1773 through 1901-1931 North Front Street at East Palmer Street and a two-story building to be constructed thereon by AP/BSI - A Joint Venture, an affiliate of A. P. Construction, Inc. and BSI Construction, LLC, for the new Kensington High School for the Creative and Performing Arts at a settlement in time for the opening of school in 2010. Any interested person may address the School Reform Commission and submit written comments by registering with the Office of Communications at (215) 400-4040 no later than 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 23, 2007. The School Reform Commission will submit the written comments to the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
