Board once again postpones new Kensington High School

Articles in the Inky and DN today talk about the proposed KHS at Thompson and Front (the article misquotes as Thompson and Palmer) today. I thought it was just meant to be an art school, but part of the expansion with include a school for social justice - pretty cool (i think).

Any news on this locally?

Are you sure it was a misquote? I'm going to call the writer of the article, if it is indeed a misquote, then I would expect to see a correction online later and in the paper tomorrow.

But for the life of me how do you confuse the word Front with Thompson?

Yes, I am sure it is a misquote. There is no land available at Palmer and Thompson - I live right there. I believe the plans were for the El Mercado land. A call to the writer is a good idea.

I read the article you wrote today for the Philadelphia Inquirer, one question ...

When did the School Board decide on Thompson and Palmer Streets? What is the exact location? In the years that this has been on the drawing board, at no time was this location mentioned. An elementary school is already at the Thompson and Palmer intersection.

Thanks in advance for your response.
