Garrison's on Gordon STreet

Garrison's on Gordon STreet (between Memphis and Cedar) is excellent. I miss Strunks..., but Garrisons is good.

I go to Harry's at Columbia

I go to Harry's at Columbia and Girard. Frank from Strunk's works there. Harry is a good guy and doesn't overprice.

I went to Garrison's the

I went to Garrison's the other day and it was great. I got an inspection and oil change, and they threw in a tire rotation for free. Don't know if that's typical. They were very nice, called me as soon as it was ready, and cleaned the old sticker gunk off the window - the last place didn't do that even after I specifically asked them to. I'll definitely go back.

I went to Garrisons after

I went to Garrisons after another shop told me I need all 4 brakes and rotors replaced on my Jetta. Garrisons quoted me a lower price over the phone by about 100 dollars, which was good, so I went. What was even better, is when they called me and said the car is done and your brakes and rotors are fine, I just had a loose bolt in my undercarriage. The charge was 72 bucks, which included checking all the brakes/rotors and test driving the car multiple times. The original shop wanted over 800 dollars, Garrisons saved me 728 dollars.

Go Garrisons!

oh thank you all so much for

oh thank you all so much for the recommendations. We will be trying Garrisons as soon as possible then :)

We had a terrible experience at Pep boys last year where they hyjacked the truck for a month and charged us $500.00 for brakes that made worse noises after they "fixed" them. yuck.

Last year I went to the place at Franford and Berks. It's 69.99 total. They were fast and friendly and I could walk there too. So I was happy to go back later when I needed some work done. The work was way affordable and Im really happy with it. They just work other jobs so the mechanics often work afternoons and nights more.

After risking it for 4

After risking it for 4 months, I finally got a ticket while I was parked right around the el. I had been ripped off by pep boys, but it's a block from my place, so I took it there for a quick fix.

I must have said 7-8 comments about how "i would do the inspection myself if I could", "she's a 95 and only has 38,000 miles, I don't want to hear that I need anything new. If you tell me the horn isn't loud enough or some other bs, I'm leaving."

An hour later and $70 I had a passed inspection with no additives. They one mechanic actually came out and said, "You came to the wrong place if you didn't want to pay anything extra on inspections."

i have found this to be typical. They were doing some other work on my car and threw in a courtesy inspection and emission test because they noticed my inspection was expired. I LOVE Garrison's. Glenn, especially.

Go Garrisons!

I've had similar experiences where other places told me I needed something very expensive for my car and Garrison's has always shot straight with me, telling me when I need something and when I don't.

Now that I just bought a new car, I'm sure they'll miss my business (hopefully!) ;-)
