Just when I was feeling better about the Neighborhood...

Kat's picture

A teenage boy came into the back of the lower church at St. Annes at the end of the 11:30 mass today, knocked over the woman who sits at the chance (Bingo) table and stole all the money. DURING MASS. It just broke my heart. One person got a good look at him and apparently he is from the neighborhood. I am not so concerned with the money since there was not too much, but he actually assaulted the woman.

So damn sad.

The police showed up pretty quickly and got a decription, so I'm sure they're on the lookout. We'll track down the witnesses and get a description to post here. Hopefully, we can catch him.

I have to agree with you on this one. That is just horrendous. But the brazen nature of the crime indicates he was desperate and perhaps in need of a fix. However misguided his soul is it does not excuse his actions and the mob should deal out justice swiftly.

Did anyone chase him? He couldn't have made it too far until either

a: his shoes that aren’t tied fall off

b: his pants that are 3 sizes to big fall around his ankles and crashes.

That is just horrible. Last

That is just horrible. Last week my fiance, daughter and I were in the eckerd at Aramingo and Huntingdon when we heard a lady that works there saying to a younger kid (might I add I use to go to school with him) put that back now. He started yelling at her saying he was going to stab her with a dirty needle if she didn't leave him alone. (I as well as my daughter were frightened) She was still yelling at him to put the stuff that he was stealing back. Then he ran out the door with the stuff and she started hitting him with a chair. I was amazed because this kid use to be a great kid but I guess the drugs really got to him. So sad that people have to put thierselves through that. It hurts my heart to see him messed up but like I have been saying forever only they can change theirselves.

There are usually 2-3 reported robberies/thefts at the stores along Aramingo Avenue each week. Who knows how many undetected thefts there are.
