This is my first winter as a homeowner - therefore the first time that I have to figure out oil heat. Can anyone recommend an oil heat company? Thanks so much! Kellie

I have Tioga too, although it's mainly because they had been delivering for the previous owner. They have a pretty good, reasonable inspection and service contract though.

I shop around from time to time, but most times I go with Oilpatch. They have the best prices and they're very quick. I used Petro for the first few years I've been in the house, but they grossly overcharged me once and when I called to complain, they became very arrogant and refused to give me a refund. I never went back. I sent an email to complain about their arrogance and a customer service manager called me back, but I politely told her I was done with them. So, no more Petro.

Which may be something new to oil owners might not think about....while modern oil boilers and furnaces are cleaner, they still should be serviced before the heating season to make sure things are ok.
