Need a haircut!

Can anyone recommend a good, and reasonably priced, hair salon in the area? I'm getting a bit shaggy. It doesn't have to be in the immediate Fishtown area, but I'd certainly love to give my cash to someone local.

Bedazzled near the palmer

Bedazzled
near the palmer cemetery.
They do a good job and they're reasonably priced
It's like a small town beauty parlor from Steel Magnolias. Everyone in there is related or has known one another their whole lives.
They can cut and syle and highlight away without paying the fancy salon prices

Hey Hey! I go to Shirley's

Hey Hey! I go to Shirley's Fresh Look Beauty Salon at the forks. 2359 E. Susquehanna Ave. Jen Vogt cuts my hair there and she is awesome. Her hours are Tuesday 9-6, Wed 9-6, Fri 9-8, and Sat 9-4. The prices are very reasonable. The phone number is 215-425-5090. Just make sure you get Jen if you decide on going there.

Now Open on Oxford Street...Pucks Salon. Any style you want, as long as its shaved. I have a pair of clippers I use in my garage. Quick and Cheap. I'll do your hair for 10 Dollars. I give discounts if you bring me empty arctic splash containers.

Maybe you should invest in a Flow-bee, increase your business

I got highlights & lowlights

I got highlights & lowlights from Nora (maybe Nola?) who was about to graduate from Jean Madeline and begin working at BeDazzled. I was very pleased, but can't speak to her cutting skills.

I am frequently disappointed in haircuts, and have tried a lot of places in Philly. Now I splurge (~$50) on rather sporadic cuts at American Mortals @ 8th & Walnut. Ask for Joe or Heidi.

Also, Faith, who posts here, used to have a link to her salon in her signature line.

Anyone able to recommend a good colorist? I need to get my hair back to blue-black, and I'm not into doing it myself...

Anyone really good with thick hair? I have enough hair for about 4 women and if it's not cut just right, I look like a Christmas tree in Palmer Park...but I hate the fact that my salon (Salon Ricochet) charges $50 a pop. I guess at about 3 times a year, I could scrimp in other areas (as I now dye my hair myself...but I wish I had highlights and have screwed that up too many times to give it another go.

True dat. And I have a sizeable portion of Artic Splash Containers (ASC heretofore) to provide to him. This would cure the need for highlights as well.

I'm pretty sure we're discussing head hair, not torso hair.

I see Erez at Strands in Old City. It's about 50 dollars, but he is good with thick hair.

You know it's not that hard

You know it's not that hard to color your hair but for best results you can get your best friend to do it and for free too. I certainly can't do it alone ^^ For hair removal try this epilare kit.
