Hello Everyone-
I just bought a home on the 1500 block of Susquehanna about 2 months ago. I've been lurking around here for a little while and finally have a question. Does anyone know a good central air repairman? The past few weeks have been HOT!!!Thanks for your help.

I recently had the same problem. Good Deals Heating and Cooling were great. Albert was the person who came to our home. He was very nice and the work they did was great. Their # is (215) 728-1266.

While we're on the topic of AC, does anyone know what is recommended as far as AC maintenance goes? We have a 2 year old system that we haven't had serviced yet. Are we supposed to be getting any type of regular preventative maintenance type service done? No smart alec comments here please guys - just actual useful info if you have it. You know I waste enough time here already : )

I'd be interested in knowing an answer to this, too. We've had ours even longer, with nary a service visit. It seems to be working OK, though.

If its not broke, don't fix it?

My 88 year old neighbor has lived in her house with the same heater for over 40 years.

The other day, I don't know who, but someone told her it should be looked at, serviced I guess, before winter.

Now she is being told she needs to replace the heater with a brand new $4,000.00 system and of course if she doesn't replace it she will worry.

I wonder how long that baby would have continued pumping before she had it "serviced"?

Hi,
I am looking for an affordable central air repairs person. I bought my house back in Feb. 2006 and it was too cold for the inspector to test it. And when I tried to cut the unit on, it made a funny noise and it wasn't blowing cold air.
Thank you!

Hard to say MichelleLynn. We replaced our 40+ year old heater since one never knows when one will break. We did it right before the bad winter last year and with no change in heating patterns (programable thermostat), our gas bills were about the same as the previous year despite the "huge increase" in natural gas prices.
