...North Wildwood bar, Keenan's, which encompasses an entire city block, has been closed since Sept. 3, 2008, when New Jersey's Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control ordered the bar's retail license suspended for 80 days for underage-drinking violations....Earlier this week, the bar sent letters to at least 13 people who either had gained entrance or had tried to get in with a fake ID over the past five years.

"We would like to hear from you or your legal representative within the next 20 days regarding this fraud," the letters said.

I kinda don't blame the guy

I kinda don't blame the guy for wanting to go after these kids for fraud. He had to pay out $300,000 plus attorney fees! That's crazy, especially when it seems like this place did what it could to prevent underage drinking. I managed to survive teenage hood without a fake ID (and still managed to get alcohol, too!), so I'm sure that any other kid can survive, too. I'm sure someone is going to say that going underage drinking at bars in Wildwood is a rite of passage or something, but I'm sorry...I just don't agree.

Plus, technically speaking,

Plus, technically speaking, it IS fraud when you pretend to be someone you are not. Kids with fake IDs are doing just that...I mean, take McLovin' for example...

The only reason his fines

The only reason his fines and such was so high he fought it and lost . I agree they do a kick butt job with keeping underage people out but to start sending letters to them ? They will laugh and throw it out cause there is nothing that can happen to them . Wildwood went after keenans because of his tatics . He is mad because he lost the appeal and had to be closed on irish weekend which is the most profitable weekend of the year .. If i didnt like it there i wouldnt go because of that one owner ... plus he doesnt like fishtowners from what i hear

I used to get served in the State Store on Frankford Avenue, (when it existed) when I was fourteen...and was never carded!
I didn't even have a fake LCB card, (yes, there were LCB cards), but I had what might be called a healthy set of lungs.

All of those bars in North Wildwood card hard, it's just not Keenan's. Any place that attracts a "younger" crowd has to card hard. And they card everyone. Nothing sucks more, than a person old enough to be your child, telling you, no id, no entrance.
