I am excited by anything

I am excited by anything helping education getting built.
I'm curious to see why this would worry anyone.

I'm excited to have a creative arts school in the area, especially one that is being built on a former eyesore.

I'm excited about the new creative arts school and I'm also happy that developing that area is bound to make that part of the neighborhood more safe.

I'm excited about the potential of drawing talented students to our neighborhod.

I'm concerned about the

I'm concerned about the method in which it's being built. The idea of a "turn key" contract, where a private company builds it, and then the city essentially buys it from the company, seems sketchy.

Otherwise, I'm psyched! Kids have been crammed into the old building for too long, and they deserve a new, bright place to be creative and to learn. Every kid deserves that, frankly.

If Im not mistaken, its

If Im not mistaken, its called a "Buy out" the Owner' tells you what they want' and the Contractor follows the outlines and regulations of the Owner' but the Contractor is responsible for all the Subs' materials'

AP Construction is a decent firm' I have known the Petrongolo Family for along time' and I have done numerous projects with them. We did Pennsauken Mart together' and they just completed a "Buy Out" at EPPI (Eastern Pennsylvania State Hospital)for DGS (Department of General Services)

The School will be Great! Im just kinda worried about the Kids that attend'

The Vandalism, that might occur and the Fights etc.

I hope that I am wrong about it though

Neither--mostly curious

Neither--mostly curious about how it will turn out. The school probably will be a big improvement over this godforsaken space though.

I'm very excited. Anything done to upgrade the quality of education is a plus. I'm also hoping that anything new will help to continue the growth of Front Street to parallel Frankford Avenue's transformation in progress. I've not seen a rendering of the school's design, but I can only hope that they worked to make it visually appealing rather than a concrete box that does nothing to improve the streetscape.

I'm exited about it..
My daughter will be born this April.
And if she if at all artistically inclined, who knows? If we stay put, she may be attending there in the future.
Yes, I am that optomistic about our public school system being an actual option in my lifetime. Must be the Inauguration talking!

I agree, i don't mind walking to Berks in the mornings, but after 5pm, i don't really like being around there.
