FISHTOWN FORUM FRENZY ON 12 AT 12 - Jan 12 @ 12 noon

dan's picture

This coming Monday (January 12) at 12 noon we're going to have a Fishtown Forum Frenzy!
(We haven't done one in a few years.)

What's a Forum Frenzy? It's where we ask EVERYBODY to get on and post, post, post for an hour (or as much of that hour as you are able and wish to).

I'll be here tossing out lots of new and recycled topics for everyone to discuss.

When we did this before we had lots of fun, and they also tend to swing the forum back into balance.

So, everybody who's available remember - ON 12 AT 12 (January 12 at noon).

yea your right its been pretty dull

dan's picture

If it's been dull, it's

If it's been dull, it's because:

a) We used to have intelligent, fun conversations
b) The intelligent, fun conversations were overrun by rude arguments
c) The people who enjoyed intelligent, fun conversations either left or cut down their time here because they didn't want to be bogged down with rude arguments
d) When the rude arguments slow down, there's now not much activity because the people who like intelligent, fun conversations aren't around as much (if at all)

That's why, starting next week, I'm clamping down again.

You go, Dan.

I do miss the intelligent,

I do miss the intelligent, fun conversations about casinos, proposed dog park sites, racism, Fistown-Kensington borders, etc. It must be the new posters who've turned every thread into a contentious and heated debate because until recently every exchange had been unfailingly civil and polite.

I'll be in Bridgeport, WV

I'll be in Bridgeport, WV for work.

(What is in Bridgeport, you ask? NOTHING, except one of my company's plants. Quite frankly, I'm scared. However I hear there is a Target in the meadowbrook mall and Tokyo Teriyaki just opened up as well, so I could get a little out of control.)

Next week I'll actually be working instead of playing around on fishtown.us all day. I'm doing, like, 150 TPS reports right now.

It must be the newcomers, because back when there were only 25 members we didn't have these problems. :)

:p <- tongue sticking out - fun, but not so intelligent.

These things go in ebbs and flows.

I'm pretty disappointed that I won't be able to participate in the forum madness on Monday. I don't do anything but work, at work. :violent1:

I was thinking I could write a bunch of commentary ahead of time, but I can't even access the site on my phone to send them.

I think it would be nice to have TWO forum frenzy's - one for the jerks that get to play on the internet during the day, and one for the loosers who actually look at it in the evenings.

I'm sure an adequate programmer with time could figure it out.
For now, that's where it is - and there seems to be enough desire for it to keep it.
But, yeah, I find it annoying too.

dan's picture

remember - if you click on

remember - if you click on the word "Smileys", the box disappears.
