The Happening (as in M Night Shyamalan)

I saw this tonight. I heard mostly mediocre to poor reviews of the movie, but I thought it was pretty good. There were definitely some chilling scenes. I generally agree with critical reviews, so I'm glad I ignored the ones about this one. I have to admit though, I mainly wanted to see the Phladelphia scenes, but I was pleasantly surprised by the movie.

Anyone else see it?

I did. You're my buddy and

I did. You're my buddy and all, Nunzio, but I had a really hard time getting through this one. I understood the premise, so it wasn't that I didn't get what the story was about. I just didn't like it overall as a movie.

I think the most unbelievable part for me to swallow was Marky Mark as a science teacher. I often imitate that scene to my students in class, saying, "C'mon, guys! Think about it! Where have all the bees gone?" I also imitate him singing a horrible rendition of "Old Black Water".

I seen it and was

I seen it and was disapointed. His favorite movie of mine was sixth sense. It was brilliant. This did not live up to that standard. The happening was mediocre. It story line was lacking in detail. John Leguizamo was he even in the movie? What a waste of a good actor. He survived for about 2 minutes. You could have replaced his character with a nobody. The ending was the most dissapointing part. just as it was starting to be a little interesting with the pycho old lady it ends. Or does it? The happening part 2? I hope not! I give it 3 thumbs down!

Whoah, whoah...I have

Whoah, whoah...I have nothing against Marky. I liked him in certain movies. I liked him in the Departed, Invincible, Basketball Diaries, and Three Kings to name a few.

Also I can't wait for "Fishtown Fleetwash" the movie. I heard he plays Boober.

wow. You guys surprise me.

wow. You guys surprise me. I thought the movie both sucked and blew. It seemed like Marky Mark was purposely trying to act bad. I will agree that the beginning had some interesting scenes. The guys jumping off the building was good but it went downhill from there. The entire scenes with the psycho old lady was stupid. It meant nothing and was silly. M knight seems like the product of an ego out of control. If you read the book about The Lady in the Water which was maybe the worst movie ever, it seems like he is out of control and cant be told when something he does isnt up to snuff. I actually think that Unbreakable is better than 6th Sense. It has so many more layers than 6th sense. You can watch it over and over again and find out new things. I hope that he can turn it around. Ill keep you all informed of any gossip! In the past he has always had an idea for his next movie. This is the longest I think he has gone without starting a new movie after the last.

I agree unbreakable was

I agree unbreakable was great. I just used sixrh sense as an example of his great work. I think he feels like he's the next stephen king and has to try to keep up with his genius and release a book/movie a week. I don't think there is many if any that can keep up with king. He needs to slow down and take his time and the quality will come. He's trying to rush it.

I loved the Sixth

I loved the Sixth Sense.

Since then I've found everything he has done to be either just okay (Unbreakable, Signs) or poor (everything since).

When it was revealed that he was dead i was like WOW! I had no idea until that. I love movies that suprise me in the end like that. Unbreakable was kinda that way too.

I can't watch another Marky

I can't watch another Marky Mark movie after I watched the one that was filmed here. Someone remind me of the name--apparently I've blocked it out through therapy.

The Happening. The Happening was filmed here.

Also, Shooter was filmed here. Shooter was the movie that was 2 parts Rambo, 1 part JFK. Also, Invincible was filmed here. That was a football movie that I like to re-title, "Old Rudy" or "Rocky Rudy". It's about a neighborhood guy who winds up playing for the Iggles.
